Wimberley Events & Festivals

Year-Round (ish)

  • Wimberley Market Days: First Saturday of the month, March-December. Huge outdoor market with hundreds of booths with antiques, handmade goods, home decor items and pretty much anything you can think of. Plus food and live music.

  • The Market at Blanco Brew: Every Sunday from 9am to 1pm featuring local farmers, artisans and small businesses. Our local faves are Eieio’s Organic Farm and Dirty Candy Farm.

Winter

  • (December) Trail of Lights: A free, family friendly event with 8 acres of light displays. Most nights feature live entertainment next to the bonfire where you can roast marshmellows and drink hot chocolate.

  • (January) Polar Bear Plunge & 5K: The run starts in Blue Hole Regional Park, and goes through Downtown Wimberley and ends with a cold plunge at Blue Hole. There’s also live music, food, drink, games, prizes and more!

Spring

  • (April) Butterly Festival: Emily Ann Theatre hosts an annual butterfly release followed by LOTS of fun like animal meet and greets, crafts, face painting and more!

Summer

  • (June) Wimberley Film Festival: The inaugural Wimberley Festival featuring Texas-made short films and live music was held in June 2024 at the Blue Hole Regional park. (Swimming was allowed during the event, and was BYOB. Just no glass!)

  • Fourth of July Parade: This is a HUGE deal for our small town. People usually secure their spots the night before by placing camp chairs along the parade route. It usually starts around 10am and shuts down the entire town!

  • (Fourth of July weekend) Wimberley's Annual VFW Pro Open Rodeo & (Memorial Day weekend) Gunner Thames Memorial Rodeo: Experience small town Texas rodeo with bull riding, calf roping, mutton bustin’ and more!

Fall

  • (October) Boo! Hole Halloween: Spooky and family-friendly fun including a trick-or-treat trail, Halloween-themed carnival games, haunted trail, photo booths and more. Admission is free!

  • (October) Wimberley Music Fest: The inaugural Wimberley Music Fest was held in October 2024. It’s a two-day Texas artist concert supporting Barnabas Connection in Wimberley which provides health and human services, client advocacy and community education.
